This is my beautiful niece Dolores Ann LeGault. I made this pillow for the Dolores Ann LeGault Foundation. The D.A.L. foundation was started to honor the memory of Dolores. D.A.L. foundation helps families with funeral and burial costs. D.A.L. helps find the right resources to help families through the traumatic loss of a child nineteen years or younger by homicide. This was a Birthday present for a grandmother's 92nd Birthday. In the middle are photo's of her as a young women, and resent photo's. On the side's are photos of her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

Stipple Quilting ~ Meander Quilting

I have asked so many people what is the difference between stipple quilting, and meander quilting. Everyone tells me that it is all the same. But....... it is not!

Stipple Quilting looks like a maze, or interlocking puzzle pieces. It is especially effective as a background pattern for applique shapes or quilted motifs. The most common form of stipple quilting is vermicelli quilting, an overall pattern of curving lines that look similar to slender, interwined pieces of vermicelli pasta Because of the density of stitches, it is suitable for filling in small areas in a quilt.

Meander Quilting is a free-flowing pattern of randomly stitched lines that can be used to fill either large or small spaces in a quilt. The stitching lines change direction frequently, and they do not duplicate themselves. The shapes of meander quilting can be as diverse as any found in nature; just as no two flowers or snowflakes look exactly alike, no two twists, angles, curves, or turns in meander quilting are ever identical.

This Quilt was blessed at the Catholic Church. It was made for Aunt Imelda's Birthday. Livia (Imelda's sister) ordered it, had it blessed, and sent to Austin Texas. Mother thinks the world of her sister Imelda. And wanted to send her something special. Aunt Imelda worships the Virgin Mary.

This Quilt top belongs to a customer. Her Grandmother made it for her. She lived with her Grandmother till the age of 12, then her Grandmother passed away. This quilt has a lot of sentimental value. I stippled the white on the border, stitched in the ditch on the squares and on the blue blocks outlined the Sunbonnetsue Umbrella Lady.

This quilt is photo's 0f my parent's and siblings. First photo is my parent's on their Honeymoon then as the family grew. On the left is my siblings first grade picture, and to the right is their adult picture. The small photo's on the boarder are pictures of picnics, and family outings.
